travelers Chinese Buddhist Monks IV: Huichao and Wukong

Huichao was a Korean monk of the Silla Kingdom, who lived in the eighth century. Moved by sea in 723 to the east coast (Coromandel) of India, from where he undertook route to Persia (Position in Chinese). He left an account of his journey entitled News from a trip to the Five Regions of India (Tianzhu Wang guo wu zhuan). Wukong (Ju Fengchao) on the other hand, a monk who lived in the second half of the eighth century, was sent to Jibin order to accompany an ambassador and take an official position in Kucha. However, decided to direct their lives according to Buddhism after a long illness that kept him stuck in Gandhara (Qiantuoluo), adopting therefore a Buddhist name: Dharmadhatu. Back in China, to 790, devoted his last years to live retired in the temple of Zhangjing.
