Most municipal Web sites lack security
Security is one of the components that 90% of municipal web sites in Mexico have not bothered to improve because they do not offer online payment service, said an assessment by the Autonomous University of Mexico State. This year the sample is extended to 508 municipalities, including the 16 municipalities.
Gateway to Hermosillo Sonora state capital was the best qualified, followed Colima, the Miguel Hidalgo in Mexico City and the municipality of Tlalnepantla de Baz mexiquense. While municipalities PeƱamiller in Queretaro, Simojovel, Chiapas; Ahualulco, San Luis Potosi; Dzilam de Bravo, Yucatan were the lowest evaluated 0.00781 points.
These low ratings reflect the low adoption of information technology (IT) by municipalities, although they have an internet presence, lack of a technological development that helps their users to access their information line. This is reflected in 17% of municipal web pages consulted where all content is under construction.
also found that 26% of sites were disabled or had a malfunction and 1% of the URLs were not within the municipality.
To obtain these results the study rated the information offered on the portal, the number of procedures and services are available and perform through it, as well as the transparency of the site, web 2.0, ie the level of interaction with applications that displays the page, design, safety level for payment procedures, in addition to technology and citizen participation and feedback.
In the last year, according to UN data, Mexico has lost 19 positions to provide e-government than it puts in place 56 of the world rankings. The main challenge for a country to implement the e-government is the number of citizens who live and demand.
